How much does a cloud weigh?

"Cloud weight" may seem like an odd question, as clouds seem to float easily in the sky. However, clouds do have mass and they can be quite heavy.

A cloud measuring about 1 kilometre in length, width and height (or 1 billion cubic metres) contains about 1.1 million kg of water, or 1.1 billion grams. If we have a rain cloud, it could be 3-4 times heavier.

The weight of the cloud is distributed over such a large volume that the density of the cloud remains incredibly low, allowing it to remain in the air. It is also important to remember that the air underneath the cloud supports it, preventing it from falling down due to gravity.
